Radovan Đorđević from the village of Starci near Aleksandrovac transformed his passion for wine into bottled joy, sharing it with his loved ones. Soon after, in the summer of 2011, he founded a cellar and embarked on a true wine adventure with his own vineyards, having recognized the potential of this business. The vineyards are located in Staračka Poljana at an altitude of 530-550 meters above sea level, where the vines thrive on calcareous soils rich in shale. With two hectares of his own vineyards exclusively planted with Prokupac and Tamjanika, and an additional equal amount from cooperatives where he buys grapes grown under strict supervision, the Čokot Winery produces wines that receive praise at all tastings.
PODRUM ČOKOT (The Čokot Cellar) has become a well-known wine brand in Serbia, trusted by many. By applying his knowledge of modern technology and respecting the laws of nature, Đorđević produces wines of a new style with minimal intervention in the cellar. Soon, they gained worldwide recognition, and even RADOVAN 100% PROKUPAC won a silver medal at the 2018 DWWA, marking the highest achievement for this Serbian indigenous variety at the prestigious competition. His mission is to deliver top-quality wines from indigenous grape varieties such as Tamjanika and Prokupac. Through his example, this entrepreneur also encouraged others in the wine region of Župa Aleksandrovac to start their own production.
