Aberdar

Aberdar is a dry white wine made from 100% Chardonnay, produced at the Aleksandrović Winery in the village of Vinča, near Topola. It was named after the word for “Glasnik” (messenger) – a person who brought an “aber,” meaning news of an important event.

The grapes come from the estate’s own vineyards, which cover an area of 10 hectares with a southern exposure. After manual harvesting and sorting, a 48-hour fermentation on the skins takes place, followed by racking of the must and continued fermentation in French oak barrels with a capacity of 225 liters, 30% of which are new and 70% previously used.

After that follows the malolactic fermentation process and four years of aging in wooden barrels, with regular stirring of the lees (sur lie).

Each year, a new amount of fresh lees was added to the wine.

A total of around 2,500 bottles were produced.
